The Packhouse.

Mooihoek’s new packhouse was completed September 2017.  With a state of the art freezing facility we are able to keep our produce as fresh as possible.

Only the best fresh strawberries are selected and packed in the required packaging for our retailers.  We have a no wastage policy, so all extra strawberries either gets frozen or dried.

Individually frozen berries are packed in our branded Mooihoek berries bags on order.  Thinly sliced strawberries, cucumber and citrus are dried in our commercial drier and packed for our Drink Infusion line.

We process fresh spinach and kale daily that we grow on our farm.  In our packhouse we produce spinach and kale bunches, sleeves, cut and washed pre packs.

We also pack other lines such as raspberries, blue berries, gooseberries and even dragon fruit to keep the packhouse operating throughout the year.


Orders are delivered daily to the distribution centers for each chain store with our refrigerated truck.

Food Safety.

We, the Management of Mooihoek Boerdery, are committed to the planning, implementation, maintenance, review and continuous improvement of our Food Safety Management System, which is based on the FSSC 22000 (TS/ISO2002-1, ISO 22000 and FSSC additional Requirements), Codex Alimentarius, SANS 10156, SANS 10049, GFSI v7, R638 and customer, legislative and sector specific regulatory requirements.

In support of these processes we will ensure that the necessary training, human and monetary resources are available to consistently deliver excellent quality products, which comply with local and relevant international Food Safety legislation and meet customer specifications and expectations.
