Who We Are.
Mooihoek Farm is a family-run 3rd generation farm located in Hankey within the picturesque Gamtoos Valley of the Eastern Cape (80km from the Gateway City of Port Elizabeth). The farm is managed by Madelé and Johan Ferreira along with an enthusiastic team of leaders.
Our motto is “we grow the taste of excellence” and we achieve this daily by applying strict and precise farming systems to ensure a superior quality product again and again. We adhere to Global Gap as well as FSA standards.
Mooihoek produce & supply fresh packed strawberries and raspberries as well as pre-packed spinach for 12 months of the year. Mooihoek frozen berries range, consisting of Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries and Mixed Berries. Bulk frozen strawberries are also available in 12kg boxes for catering purposes.
Use frozen berries for:
• Smoothies
• Sorbet or ice cream
• Desserts, such as cheesecake
• Baking cakes, muffins or biscuits
• Alternative to ice in your drink
• Berry sauce or coulis
Dried fruit range consisting of strawberries, cucumber, citrus, figs and spice for Drink Infusion, snack or catering purposes.

• Add to your cheese platter
• Decorate a cake
Each December, the strawberry farm opens it’s fields to the public and offer a “Pick your own strawberries” experience to visitors of this gorgeous part of the world. With a choice of tub sizes, it’s a real fun family activity.
Delicious beverages such as strawberry smoothies and strawberry juice are also available for purchase at the fields.
